Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Location data. GPS coordinates, heading, and speed collected while the app is in use. This data is used to identify nearby points of interest and provide contextual narration.

Account information. Your email address, collected via Supabase authentication when you create an account.

Voice preferences. Your selected narrator voice and audio settings.

Usage data.Features you've viewed, narrations you've heard, and engagement signals such as listen duration and skips. This helps us improve personalization and content quality.

2. How We Use Your Information

Feature discovery. Your location is used to find nearby points of interest from Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap, and GeoNames.

AI narration. Location context and nearby feature data is sent to Claude (Anthropic) to generate contextual stories and answer your questions.

Personalization. Usage signals help Yonder adapt to your interests over time — surfacing the kinds of stories you engage with most.

Service improvement. Aggregated usage data helps us improve narration quality, feature selection, and timing.

3. Third-Party Services

Yonder uses the following third-party services. We share only what is necessary for each service to function.

  • Supabase — Authentication and secure data storage. Receives account credentials and app data.
  • Anthropic / Claude— AI narration and Q&A. Receives location context and conversation text.
  • ElevenLabs — Voice synthesis. Receives narration text only; no location data is shared.
  • Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap, GeoNames — Feature and POI data. Receives location coordinates for nearby feature lookup.
  • RevenueCat — Subscription billing. Receives user ID and purchase state.
  • Apple— In-app purchases managed by Apple. Subject to Apple's own privacy terms.

4. Location Data

Location is collected only while the app is actively in use. It is used solely to find nearby features and provide contextual narration.

Your location data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking or profiling outside of Yonder's core functionality.

Trip history (your Yonders) is stored at your discretion and can be deleted at any time from within the app or by contacting support.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Usage data is retained to support service improvement. You may request complete deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@yonderguides.com.

6. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Data is stored securely via Supabase with access controls that limit data access to only what is necessary for each service function to operate.

7. Children's Privacy

Yonder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access your data, request its deletion, and opt out of non-essential data collection. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@yonderguides.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email. Continued use of Yonder after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
